The Future Shall Be Ours: Clinton Worthy of Our Respect and Vote

“The Future Shall Be Ours.”

Dear Friend,

Before I go further, I want to let you know that I no longer support
lowering the capital gains tax. I abandoned that position quite a while
ago. It doesn’t fit with my support of the Affordable Care Act, nor does
it do anything to render our economic system more fair to those who are
struggling to make ends meet.

That said, I can move on and say that I heartily endorse Hillary Clinton
for president. She’s a hard worker, conscientious and worldly in her
political experience. Indeed, as secretary of state under Barack Obama,
Clinton traveled 956,733 miles.(“Clinton Seeks State Dept. Legacy Beyond
That of Globetrotter” by Amy Chozick, New York Times, Nov. 26, 2013.)

But she accomplished much more than that.

“What about her 13 trips to Libya in 2011 to build the coalition that led
to the ouster of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi,” supporters ask. “Why is no one
talking about how she brokered a cease-fire in Gaza? Anyone remember that
she furthered economic sanctions on North Korea?” (Ibid.)

I moreover have faith in Mrs. Clinton’s judgment. She has been a force for
reason and considerate treatment of other nations. “President Obama’s
victory in 2008 and Mrs. Clinton’s frequent personal visits helped mend
tensions, and by mid-2009 favorable opinions of the United States in
Western Europe, Asia and Latin America were almost as high as before
President George W. Bush took office.” (Ibid.)

I would much rather that Clinton have the responsibility for nuclear
weapons than Donald Trump, whose drive to dominate and insult would not, I
believe, contribute to working relationships with other leaders to promote
